Lori Benton – Skating Bio

Has 26 years of coaching experience and is the Figure Skating Director at Manchester Ice and Event Centre in McCall Idaho. She is a double gold medalist and a former World Professional Figure Skating Champion. She medaled at the United States Figure Skating Championships and World University Games. Lori was a soloist performer in Ice Capades, Holiday on Ice, and numerous shows worldwide from 1981- 2002. Lori has coached and choreographed National competitors and Olympic medalists. She has also choreographed professional shows nationwide, including the “Sun Valley on Ice” summer shows and is the Artistic Director of McCall’s “Starz on Ice!” Holiday and Winter Carnival shows, as well as the summer performance camp, “Show it Off.”

Marie Furnary – Skating Bio

As a Professional Skaters Association Double Master-rated coach, Marie has more than 20 years of coaching experience, and is a US Figure Skating Gold Medalist in Ice Dance. Marie’s primary coach was Olympic Team pairs/dance coach Ron Ludington in Wilmington, DE, who ingrained techniques of his coach, Maribel Vinson-Owen, in all of his skaters. She holds a PSA Level II ranking, Master Ratings in Moves in the Field and Group Instruction, a Certified Rating in Ice Dance, a Registered Rating in Freestyle, and accreditation in Hockey Power Skating.

Marie’s MFSC skaters have passed 290 US Figure Skating tests, including 6 Gold Medal tests (3 Gold Dance, 2 Senior MIF, 1 Senior Free Dance), since the club’s inception in 2003. Her skaters’ other achievements include competing as co-captain of the 2012 National Collegiate Champion Team; receiving the highest IJS score out of 44 Preliminary girls at the 2013 US Figure Skating NW Pacific Regionals; performing as a cast member of the 2015 Holiday on Ice European Tour of Passion as well as in the 2015-2016 US tour of Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic. She has also taught at The Dartmouth Figure Skating Club in New Hampshire, and at The Johnstown Figure Skating Club in Pennsylvania.

Leesa Johnson – Skating Bio

Figure Skating coach for over 25 years.  17 years of management experience in the skating industry.  Member of the U.S.  Figure Skating since 1978, member of the Professional Skaters Association since 1998 and USA Hockey since 2008. She spent 3 years as a US Figure Skating Basic Skills Area Representative. Leesa’s primary coach was national champion/coach Doug Varvais.  She also was trained by two time World Champion and Olympic Silver medalist Tim Woods. She is a Professional Skater Association Master Rated Coach. She holds a registered rating in moves in the field & free skating, a senior rating in group instruction and she is Level 1 & 2 hockey accredited & power skate coach.   Leesa’s skaters have won gold, silver, bronze and pewter medals at US Figure Skating’s Northwest Pacific Regionals.  Her skaters have passed 126 US Figure Skating tests since the inception of the McCall FSC in 2001. She is part of the McCall Starz on Ice Elite Ensemble performance team, skating under the direction of Lori Benton, World Professional Champion.
